The 29th IEDMS and 4th SNDCT will be held jointly in 2024. The conference aims to provide a platform for talent in semiconductor-related fields to exchange ideas and experience. Topics covered include electronic device design and manufacturing, novel materials and device, semiconductor physics, and modeling.

National Taiwan Science Education Center’s “Secret Bases of Scientists” Grand Reopening on 1/19

Training S&T talent is one of the National Science and Technology Council’s  (NSTC) chief responsibilities. In addition to high-level research talent, the NSTC is actively working on promoting science education at all levels. Through all types of popular science activities, the NSTC hopes to attract young scholars to science and S&T-related industries. The National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) and the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) have collaborated with the National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC) to carry out NSTC policy to organize the popular science exhibit “Secret Bases of Scientists” on the 8th floor of the NTSEC. Since opening in March 2023, the exhibit has attracted 50,000 visitors while garnering acclaim from people across a wide variety of disciplines. After updating a portion of the displays, the exhibit held a grand reopening on January 19. The NSTC hopes that this will allow the public to learn about interesting scientific knowledge while gaining a deeper understanding of the research conducted by Taiwan’s national-level research institutions.

"Intern's notebooks" Taiwan's First Popular Science Reality TV Show Premieres on 1/21

Training the necessary talent to establish the proper foundation for  scientific research and S&T related industries in Taiwan is one of the National Science and Technology Council’s (NSTC) main responsibilities. Training S&T talent requires a multi-faceted approach. Thus, the NSTC launched the Popular Science Production and Broadcast Project for Industry-Academia Cooperation. The National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) is in charge of this project and will collaborate with Dong Tai Communication to produce the popular science series Intern's notebooks. Starting on January 21, Intern's notebooks will be broadcast for three consecutive Sundays from 3:00-4:00pm on Formosa Television.

2024 National Applied Research Laboratories International Internships Announcement for Foreign Master and PhD Students

National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) will be offering internship opportunities to foreign master and PhD students who study in domestic and foreign universities. Through this program, NARLabs intends to provide scholarship to students, who’re interested in a handson research and practical experience at one of NARLabs’ research centers. The goal of the program is to encourage research exchanges with foreign colleges and universities and research institutions, promote cross-border internship.

"Secret Bases of Scientists" Exhibition Updated

The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) promotes all manner of popular science activities, aiming to help young students become interested in the subject through exciting and interesting content such as exhibitions, games, and videos. In light of this policy, NARLabs and the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) collaborated with the National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC) to organize the exhibition "Secret Bases of Scientists." The exhibition officially debuted in March 2023 to much acclaim and has already seen over 30,000 total visitors. After a partial update, the exhibition officially reopened Oct. 4, hoping to give visitors an even broader understanding of the work of Taiwan's national research centers and share more interesting scientific knowledge.
